Citizenship Applications

Once you’ve had a Green Card for five years (or three years if you got your Green Card through marriage to a U.S. Citizen spouse), you may be eligible to apply and become a U.S. Citizen. 

If you took any trips outside the U.S. that lasted more than six months or had any criminal history while you were a Green Card holder, you should speak to an attorney before you apply for citizenship to make sure you are eligible.
