Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS)

SIJS is a special visa for children that can lead to a Green Card. It is only available to minor children who are in the U.S. and have been abused, neglected, and/or abandoned by one or both of their parents.

The first step is to file for custody and certain SIJS factors in the local Juvenile and Domestic Relations (JDR) Court. Once we have the JDR Court order, we can apply for the SIJS Visa.

When the SIJS Visa is approved, the next step is to apply for a Green Card as soon as a visa is available.

Attorney Ben Williams can handle your SIJS case from start to finish. If a child qualifies for SIJS it is often their best path to permanent residency and a Green Card in the U.S., even if they are in removal proceedings or already have a deportation/removal order.
